Brand Relaunch
Description
For Hansaplast, a packaging was developed that immediately conveys quality – through micro-embossing that tactilely represents the product on the packaging and creates instant trust.

Brand Relaunch
How can packaging design build trust before you experience the product?
On the shelf, the moment matters: people want to feel what quality means before they purchase. Especially in the healthcare sector, a clear signal for trust and safety was often missing – packaging conveyed quality too late.
Solution
The new Hansaplast packaging transfers the plaster onto its own surface—crafted 1:1 with micro-embossing. The texture and scale match the original product, making the quality immediately visible and tangible. The result: a 15% increase in sales in the first year, enhanced brand recognition, and clearer shelf navigation.
The new Smile logo perfectly captures this approach. It replaces the previous brand identity and symbolizes that small but noticeable moment of relief when the plaster is in place and the pain subsides.
“The design architecture was consistently applied to the entire product range with high quality. By realistically and authentically depicting the product, a medical-emotional design language was developed that clearly communicates the product and its specific benefits.”

We design packaging as sensory interfaces between brand and consumer. From material development to global system design, we combine emotion and function—to make trust tangible for brands. Packaging that intuitively communicates quality offers enormous potential, especially in industries where trust is crucial for buying decisions.
