homo, designed in 1991 by feldmann+schultchen, the origin of dfhn, is an invitation to sit in motion. The asymmetrically curved backrest activates the natural need to change position. homo is an abstract counterpart, a furniture creature for physical and mental interaction.
After more than 30 years, the design has retained its appeal. It is the center of attraction and the starting point for the lively presence of our family and friends.
We have been observing people and the life of our designs for over three decades: Designing for people and working with their animated and playful nature gives lasting pleasure.
